Full description
Your guided group tour starts at the Arch of Constantine, the biggest and one of the best-preserved triumphal arches in Rome. From here, you’ll skip the line to the Colosseum and begin your exploration of Ancient Rome. The Colosseum is one of the world’s most iconic landmarks, learn about the cruel and grueling events that took place here, such as the fights between Gladiators and discover about their hard lives. Enjoy learning more from your guide. No visit to Ancient Rome is complete without a visit to the Palatine Hill, where all it began. You’ll learn about the legend of the twin brothers Remus and Romulus, see where the battle between the brothers took place and find out how Romulus founded the city of Rome. This historical site also consists of incredible frescoes in the House of Augustus and Hippodrome, an elliptical sunken garden from the Palace of Domitian. Here, enjoy an impressive view of the Circus Maximus and the valley of the Roman Forum before continuing your tour. Finish with a chance to explore the Roman Forum with your expert guide. The Forum is known as the heart of Ancient Rome. The guide will lead you through the bustling marketplace, once ruled by the moneylenders and shopkeepers, and show you its most evocative ruins, including the Temple of Julius Caesar, the Arch of Titus, House of the Vestal Virgins, Senate House and the Basilica of Maxentius. Here, you can also admire and listen to the story of the triumphal road, also known as The Sacred Way of the Roman Forum. It was great seeing the colloseum and the forum, although palatine hill was a bit of a letdown since its mostly just small ruins, not much to see. The best thing was arguably the forum, its well preserved considering what the city went through in the last 2000 years. Note that even if you get tickets that let you skip the line there will still be a queue and you will have to wait. Also, it's best not to talk at all with the various suspicious characters that wander about the public parts of the colloseum and the hill.

Francisco was an amazing guide who shared many details we wouldn't have learned from placards. The tours are lengthy with a lot of walking so be prepared to get a workout. I was botious and did 2 tours in one day. I recommend doing them on separate days so that you can spend time exploring after the tour. My only complaint was that although our group was small the crowds were large and I couldn't hear him at times. We didn't get radios.

Nice tour for the Coliseum. Palatine Hill and Forum tour is just an entrance and walk to a terrace, not an actual tour. There are much to see in the Forum and many places on the Palatine Hill, so you better take an extended “super” ticket which allows visiting more places inside, or take a dedicated tour.
