I got the Roma pass so I could see the coloseum plus discount tickets to any other major sights I was interested in. I was very surprised how quickly I was admitted to the coloseum with the RomaPass, I didn't have to queue up at all plus I got a discount for the audio guide because of the RomaPass. It was invaluable for the metro/public transport around Rome too because all the sights are so far apart - just too far to justify walking all the way. I want game to catch the bus but the metro was fast and easy with the Roma pass with stops to pretty much all the major sights. Just tap the RomaPass car at the access gates to the metro - so easy! Over all I do recommend although my one 2 issues were how you had to find the tourist info terminals to activate and collect the card. The first one I went to in Castel Sant'Angelo was having internet issues due to construction nearby so they sent me to the next one. Lastly reserving different attractions was confusing and inconsistent.

Overall it was nice not to have to purchase our tickets every time we got on the Metro, but it was pretty far from our hotel to pick the tickets up. We also couldn't figure out how to use the free museum pass. If you're going to use the Subway a lot, it's a good deal. It's definitely the best way to get places the quickest

It was my first time in Rome and I must admit that I found it difficult to find my way around. Roma pass can be good value for money as long as: a) you exchange the voucher with proper tickets once you arrive in Rome (make sure you read carefully the instructions) and c) you book in advance.
