Full description

Discover the most spectacular destinations in the Amalfi Coast region of Amalfi and Positano on a high-speed train tour. Admire the elegance and natural beauty of these two gems of the coastline. Meet with your tour leader at the Roma Termini railway station. Depart for Salerno by high-speed train to reach the Amalfi Coast in the most time-efficient way possible. Once you reach Salerno, board the ferry to Amalfi and enjoy the fantastic views from the boat. Explore the town of Amalfi nestled in a ravine surrounded by stunning cliffs, the medieval public also knew it as the Duchy of Amalfi. Here you will have free time to explore the town, its public squares, shops and the Cathedral on your own. After visiting Amalfi, take the ferry back to Positano to discover all its charm and elegance: its coloured buildings, shops, and sandy beaches. Visit Marina Grande beach, or stroll around Fornillo or Arienzo beaches. Spend about two and a half hours in Positano before taking your ferry back to Salerno and heading for the railway station to take your high-speed train back to Rome, which will take you back to the Eternal City in the evening.

We loved the Amalfi Coast so much! My only complaint about the tour was that the original tour details got changed and we didn’t find that out until we arrived in the morning. Because the ferry shut down early we were not able to take the train as far as was planned to get to the ferry stop. Instead we got on a bus and drove to Poisitano and Amalfi.. I chose the original tour specifically to avoid the windy road the bus drove us on. I understand the tour company had to change the tour details to even have a tour at all, but I just would’ve liked to known ahead of time so I could decide if I wanted to take the tour without being able to take the ferry. In the end and carsickness aside it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Our guide was amazing and did a great job of rolling with the punches!

We had a great time on this Amalfi coast trip. Our guide was very conscientious in communicating and keeping track of us especially during the high speed train portions of our trip. The reason for the 4 stars is that the ferry portions of our trip were cancelled with no advance notice. We realize that the trip cancellation policy may affect their ability to pre-purchase ferry tickets. Advance notice of the change would have allowed us to dress and pack differently. But overall this was a highlight of our trip to Italy!

Our guide Rosella was wonderful. The meeting point was a bit difficult because Google maps likes to mess around when you’re in a train station. After that everything went smoothly. About an hour half train to Salerno followed by 30 min ferry ride to Amalfi. The ferry rocks a bit but I took a Dramamine and was fine. Hour and a half in Amalfi and then another 30 min to Positano. You get about two hours in Positano but be prepared for the steepest climb of your life to get the views. The streets are lined with souvenir shops so you can take your time getting up there. We only thought to get something to eat after an hour of window shopping. So at a restaurant near the too, we panicked thinking our food wouldn’t arrive in time for us to leave and make our way back down. We had to request the check as they set down our plate. Luckily we didn’t miss the ferry. It’s an hour boat ride back. It’s an incredibly long day and you arrive back in Rome around 8:30pm.
