Full description

Travel from Rome to Pompeii in an air-conditioned private bus, accompanied by an archaeologist guide. Benefit from skip-the-line entry and enjoy a guided tour of the ancient city. Throughout the ruins, come across a death cast, a plaster recreation of an unfortunate citizen preserved by the superheated volcanic ash. After visiting Pompeii, drive up the slope of Mt. Vesuvius, (from April to mid-November), one of Europe’s few active volcanoes located in the Vesuvius National Park. From here, take a short hike up to the steaming crater for stunning views of Capri and Sorrento. During the winter season between November and March, Mt. Vesuvius is closed, so your tour will follow the coastline and take you to the city of Naples. Explore the iconic Castle Nuovo, the famous art deco Umberto I Gallery, or simply wander around the monumental Plebiscito Square.

It was very hot when we were going so getting on the bus was nice to cool down . The restaurant staff at the restaurant we attended after pompeii were a bit rude to us , the food wasn't the best in the place either. We thought food should have been included. We enjoyed it nonetheless and happy we walked up Mount vesuvius on our own.

Great day out if you are ready for hours of walking round Pompeii (you don’t get to see the bodies) and a VERY steep climb up Mt Vesuvius. The lunch they offer when you get to Pompeii for €10 is worth taking. Just remember to bring water & a sun hat & be warned the only toilets are at Pompeii and the rest stops halfway there & back on the coach!!!!

It was very easy to find the meeting point and check in. Our tour guide, Rob was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating to everyone in the group. The trip to Pompei is quite the drive, so prepare for a long journey. The bus was very spacious and comfortable, and the driver - Fausto - was amazing behind the wheel! Once in Pompei, our local guide Roberto was incredibly fun and brought the ancient ruins to life. He was very knowledgeable, and was able to pack a lot of information in 2 hours. While lunch is not included in this tour, Rob was able to set up food and drinks at a restaurant after our visit to Pompei at a discounted price, which was a nice touch. The climb up Vesuvius is tough, especially because the visit is during the hottest part of the day! The path is steep and rocky, but it is not very long. Once at the top, the views are unbeatable and make the climb worth it. Bring water, comfortable shoes and take breaks in between and you’ll be just fine.
