Full description

Travel from Rome to Pompeii in an air-conditioned private bus, accompanied by an archaeologist guide. Benefit from skip-the-line entry and enjoy a guided tour of the ancient city. Throughout the ruins, come across a death cast, a plaster recreation of an unfortunate citizen preserved by the superheated volcanic ash. After visiting Pompeii, drive up the slope of Mt. Vesuvius, (from April to mid-November), one of Europe’s few active volcanoes located in the Vesuvius National Park. From here, take a short hike up to the steaming crater for stunning views of Capri and Sorrento. During the winter season between November and March, Mt. Vesuvius is closed, so your tour will follow the coastline and take you to the city of Naples. Explore the iconic Castle Nuovo, the famous art deco Umberto I Gallery, or simply wander around the monumental Plebiscito Square.

Nice excursion to get to know Pompeii and Vesuvius a little. Time is very limited and it is missed that the visit to the spectacular Pompeii is a little longer because you are left wanting to delve a little deeper. The same thing happens to the visit to Vesuvius, you want to spend a little more time enjoying the volcano because the time you have to go up and down, if you don't walk well on the mountain, is very little and you go against the clock. In spite of everything, the whole excursion is well worth it and the guides are magnificent. What I liked least is the real sablazo that they hit you where you stop for breakfast... it's an armed robbery, so if you don't want to be left with a silly face, take your own food... they abuse a bit. For the rest, I repeat, it is well worth it.

The guide, Emiliano, was outstanding. He was friendly, funny and really informative. Could not ask for better. The tour of Pompeii was too rushed and we missed out on a lot and not given sufficient time for photos. The bus driver was amazing. Just wish we had better weather on the mountain.

Simply brilliant.... We were a little worried about the amount of time traveling but we need not have been. The whole day was a fabulous experience, Pompeii is something I had only ever heard about at school, the scale was breathtaking. Never realised how big it was. The trip to Vesuvius.....another level. The walk to the top whilst not for the faint hearted was well worth the effort. Glad to say we both made it and the views were incredible. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
