Learn about the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD and see the famous plaster death casts of the unfortunate people caught in the eruption and, if age-appropriate for the group, an ancient brothel. Then, enjoy a drive with panoramic views of the Amalfi Coast and stop in Positano, Amalfi town, or Sorrento. After an introduction from your guide, enjoy a few hours of free time before your journey back to Rome.

This was such a fun day trip! Pompeii was so cool and Positano was absolutely beautiful. Our driver deftly handled the scary mountain roads and narrow streets.

We really enjoyed this trip. It packed a lot into one day. It was good for the value, but you don’t get a lot of time in Positano. That part did feel rushed, but it was a great way to still be able to see the Amalfi coast and Pompeii all in one day. The guide we had for Pompeii was a local and she was fantastic.

Chiara was a great guide and the day was organized very well. You will have about 2 hours in Pompeii and 2 hours in positano. And about 6-8 hours of driving, so prepare yourself for that.
