What to Expect
Italy is famous for its history and culture, admired for the picturesque landscapes and loved because of the food and wine! This tour combines all these characteristics and gives you an off the beaten track to experience Tuscany & Umbria.
Departing Rome and heading north crossing the Tiber valley, you will reach Cortona. This typical Italian town has changed little since the Middle Ages. Most recently, Cortona has become famous for being depicted in the Oscar winning film “La Vita è Bella”, as well as being described by American novelist Frances Mayes in “Under the Tuscan Sun”. Take your time to stroll through the historic center, discovering its hidden corners and absorbing the atmosphere of this picturesque town.

Following this, drive along the shores of Lake Trasimeno, where you will stop to taste local products (olive oil, cheeses, salami and ham). Lunch will then be served in a typical Tuscan style countryside restaurant.

In the afternoon, you will head towards the Chianti region with its gentle hills and world-class vineyards. Finally, reach Montepulciano, world-famous for its deep ruby red wine called "Vino Nobile". You will visit one of its oldest wine cellars carved out of tufo rock, to discover some of the secrets of the winemakers and of course to taste the final result, in an exclusive wine tasting in Montepulciano's oldest wine cellar!

You will be dropped-off close to your hotel in Rome at approximately 19:00 - 20:00.
