there are 2 different itineraries that take the same bus. one trip is transport to naples for a photo stop, drop off at pompeii, pick up about 3.5 hours later and return to Rome second itinerary is same pick up and naplea stop, the a 1 hour lunch (salad, pizza, dessert and drink), a rock shop and then about 2 hours at pompeii. there is also a 30 min coffee stop each way. I would suggest if you book this to visit pompeii - do the first option. we had a very rainy and cold day and were lucky to have a clear break while others went to lunch. we rushed the site in 2 hours and could of easily stayed for 3 as we missed a few areas, but the rain was too heavy.

Great job with coordinating everybody, was nice to see some of the sights in Naples before heading to Pompeii. I ended up only getting the bus ride and entrance to the museum, and the time I spent at Pompeii (about 11:45 to 15:30) was just enough time for me to see pretty much everything I wanted to. Got back to Rome around 19:30. There was an issue where some of the other people in my group who also only got the bus ticket and entrance ticket had issues with their tickets; they were denied entry to the park as their tickets had "already been used", and had to wait a while for someone to get in contact with the park to let them in. Other than that, it was a good trip. The price was fairly reasonable as it included the entrance fee to the museum (about 19 Euro) and direct transportation to and from the museum for the same price as train tickets without any of the hassle. Provided a "skip the line" opportunity, but there wasn't really any line to skip when I went.

On time departure and arrival back in Rome. Bus was fairly comfortable coach, although I have been on smoother rides. Left Rome at 0730 and got to Pompei at 1230: excess time to get there because of planned stops. Stopped for 30 minutes at cafe on way out of Rome and this was a bit long; stopped again briefly in Naples to pick up guides who spoke to tourists who booked the tours (40 people on bus and 33 of these were with the guides), then another stop in Naples to exit bus at vista of the sea. We had about 4 hrs to tour the ruins; did so without a guide, as we wanted to be able to wander widely. Stopped again at cafe for about 30 minutes on way back to Rome from Pompei. Guide Gabriel on bus for everyone was very helpful and pointed out things along the way to entire group before other guides came. Driver Ciro did a great job too.
