The bus journey was excellent, the location was quick and easy to find and Gabriele was a great guide who pointed out interesting facts along our journey but allowed us to relax too. There was a pit stop on the way there and back which allowed us the chance to stretch our legs and get something to eat. We opted for the bus transfer option only and chose to make our own way around Pompeii with an audio guide. This worked really well for us and meant that we were able to go at our own pace and spend 4 hours at Pompeii instead of having to stop for lunch with the others. The only thing I would say is that getting off the bus is a bit awkward as you are rushed off quickly and also singled out by some staff members as being the only ones not going to lunch. Having said that Gabriele was completely professional and dealt with it discretely and even gave us his number should we need help during our tour.

This is about a 2 hour drive from Rome city center to Naples and Pompeii. The drive is very relaxing and smooth. We had an excellent driver and team from a local tour company. Everyone on board was friendly and respectful. I took this trip with my teenagers nd they had a great time!

First of all I’m a woman in my late 20s and I did this alone and felt very comfortable. The tour was long so the guides did a good job of balancing that with allowing us several times to rest. When we approached significant locations they would then give us history and commentary. I chose to do the self-guided option of Pompeii instead of joining the group, and the guides drew me a map of how to find them and other things. Overall a great trip, well cared for, but i recommend hiking shoes! Lol my feet are killing me
