Cossimo was our guide from Rome, Katerina in Pompeii. Both were excellent. Cossimo gave us lots of information on the way and way back, he was genuinely concerned with making sure that everyone in the party was well looked after. Katerina in Pompeii was wonderful too. So full of knowledge and wanted us to see as much as possible. It would have been nice to have more time in Pompeii (2.5 hours) and Sorrento (2 hours) but Pompeii is extremely hot and with so little shelter from the sun, 2.5 hours is probably as much as you can take. Sorrento was however more of a rush but with travel time back you do t get back to Rome until 8pm so there is probably not a lot more time available. The description said travel straight to Pompeii but we did stop at a services near Cassino where you can get coffee/drinks Minibus was warm on the way back, but it was nearly 40 so it struggled to keep a full load cool. Minor inconvenience when all considered. The guides made it, they were so good.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your tour, your guide will be holding a green Walks sign. This tour meets at Piazzale Flaminio, 15, 00196 Roma RM, in front of the McDonald's Restaurant on the corner of the square. Piazzale Flaminio is a centrally located square (just outside the arches of Piazza del Popolo). The closest Metro stop is Flaminio - Piazza del Popolo on the Metro Line A.
