Spend an enjoyable 3-days on an excursion to Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento and the isle of Capri from Rome. Explore the historical center of Naples, tour the ruins of the Pompeii archeological site and visit the enchanting isle of Capri and its Blue Grotto. Day 1: From Rome to Naples, Pompeii, and Sorrento Depart from the local supplier's office at 7:30 AM for the trip to Naples by coach with a multilingual tour leader. In Naples, your local guide will take you on a walking tour of the historical center to admire the Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace, the Gallery of Umberto I and the San Carlo Opera House. From Naples, the tour will continue to Pompeii with a brief stop at a coral and cameo factory en route. Enjoy lunch at a typical restaurant, followed by a visit to the excavations of the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, which was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD and buried under 4 to 6 meters of ash and stones. Next, you’ll head to Sorrento, a charming town on the Sorrentine Peninsula, well known for its cultivation of oranges, lemons, and olives. Enjoy dinner at your hotel. Overnight in Sorrento. Day 2: Sorrento, Capri, Sorrento After an American buffet breakfast at the hotel, depart at 8:00 AM for the island of Capri by ferry, arriving in Marina Grande. Once you’ve arrived, you’ll visit the Blue Grotto (weather permitting), the Augustus Gardens and stop at the famous piazzetta. A minibus will take you up to Anacapri, where you’ll enjoy lunch. Afterward, return to Marina Grande to board the ferry for the transfer back to Sorrento. Day 3: Sorrento, Rome First, enjoy an American buffet breakfast. Then, have the rest of the day at leisure to explore the popular and attractive town of Sorrento. You may also visit on your own the other famous villages on the peninsula, like Positano, Ravello or Amalfi. Head back to the hotel at 3:30 PM, when you will meet the tour leader, board the motorcoach and return to Rome.  At the end of the tour, get dropped off guaranteed in at Viale Luigi Einaudi (Termini Station Area), Via Ludovisi, and Viale Washington. Expect to arrive back in Rome at around 9:00 PM.
