Spend a day in the Roman countryside tasting local delicacies and premium DOCG Frascati wines. In the Castelli Romani area you’ll visit Castel Gandolfo and Albano with a real winemaker, who is also the owner of the wineries you are going to tour.
What to Expect
Your full-day food and wine tour begins at 10:00 when your driver and personal winemaker pick you up at your hotel. On the drive to the Castelli Romani area you’ll learn about the Frascati region, its history, traditions, and wine designation.
A DOCG Frascati will be your first taste of the local wine. Take a guided tour of the farm, enjoying a walk in the vineyards followed by a welcome toast inside the ancient grotto. Learn about ancient wine traditions that date back to Roman times.
Your guide will take you on a walking tour of the gardens of the 17th-century Villa Aldobrandini, built by Giacomo della Porta for Cardinal Pietro Aldobrandini. Learn about Frascati town, visit Castel Gandolfo, overlooking the volcanic lake Albano, and see the small town of Albano.
