See the arena floor from the stands, and imagine the battle scenes with gladiators and wild animals below. Next, visit the Roman Forum to see where the center of Roman social, political, and religious life took place. Home to the old marketplace and Temple of Julius Caesar, it was a grand site at the heart of Roman life. Head up Palatine Hill next, the rumored birthplace of Rome and middle of the 7 hills. A great tour

We booked only the night before. We had to rush their for our time slot due to our own rental car issues but we arrived just as the tour should have started and due to confusions with other customers there was a delayed start. Mercedes was great though. She did have a lot of Roman history to cram in so at times I struggled to keep up but overall we had a good experience around the colosseum. Then we were asked to meet for the second part 45 minutes later, we were not expecting a delay. We arrived back as agreed, it turned out there was a medical issue with our guide so another guide was needed. So we went to get some food to go. When we returned it was delayed slightly more as it appeared that three groups then came together. So we got going after a 2 hour delay. The afternoon was saved however by some one known as The Gladiator Guide. Also know as Alexander. He was so engaging and funny. I loved learning about Roman history from him.
