Visit Capri, the “Pearl of the Mediterranean,” on a day trip from Rome. You’ll see the renowned Blue Grotto, stop in scenic Anacapri, and enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. At the end of the tour you’ll have time to explore the island on your own.
What to Expect
Your full-day excursion begins with a comfortable air-conditioned coach ride along the Highway of the Sun heading from Rome to the Mediterranean coast. You’ll cross the fertile Roman countryside and the area known as Castelli Romani, which is dotted with picturesque medieval villages.
After arriving in Naples, you’ll board a jet boat for the 45-minute crossing to Marina Grande, the port of Capri. Once you’ve reached the island you can take another motorboat to see the famous Blue Grotto and experience the impressive views from Anacapri.
You’ll marvel at the natural beauty of the Blue Grotto. Sunlight passes through an underwater cavity and shines through the water, creating a stunning blue reflection that illuminates the cavern.
After returning to port you’ll head to Anacapri, a scenic spot on Capri that features lovely views of the Bay of Naples. This is followed by a visit to a typical local restaurant for lunch. You’ll have free time to explore Capri at your leisure in the afternoon.
On returning to Naples, you’ll have splendid views from the port of the 12th-century Castel Nuovo and the Royal Palace.
