Full description
Enjoy priority admission on this 3-hour tour and experience all the major highlights of Vatican City! This popular tour includes the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, the Papal Tombs and St. Peter's Basilica. See one of the most important collections of art in the world at the Vatican Museums, which comprise more than 1,200 rooms. Highlights include the Rooms of Raphael, the Sistine Chapel and the ancient Roman and Greek pieces in the Belvedere Courtyard. The Sistine Chapel is located at the far end of the galleries and your guide will ensure that you get there quickly, while seeing the most important masterpieces along the way. From the Sistine Chapel, you’ll have direct access to St. Peter's Basilica, a privilege available on official guided tours only. (Covid-19 restrictions may affect this; please see the Know before you go section for more details.) Your guide will also lead you to the underground level, a rarely seen area of the Vatican where the tombs of the former popes are located. You’ll then head up into the main area of St. Peter's Basilica, the largest basilica in the world. On this part of the tour see Michelangelo’s Pietà and the famous dome he designed for the Basilica. Note the massive bronze baldacchino or canopy by Bernini, Raphael’s Transfiguration and other monuments of artistic importance. Outside the magnificent Basilica your guide will tell you about the history of the Vatican State, the Swiss Guard and how St. Peter's Square was designed.

Well worth the price, for skipping the line alone! Saved us 3 hours and all the stories behind the place and art works were a bonus! Louigi our guide was a very passionate, Christian Italian man! Couldn’t have had a better guide, he navigated our way through the crowds with confidence and politeness! Took us to important spots and gave us detailed information!

    A great trip

Paola was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable on all parts of the Vatican. The tour itself takes you to the important rooms in order to see as much as possible, the only downside is there is little time to view things at your own pace but this does keep the tour fluid Overall I say it’s excellent

    Fabulous tour

Very pleasantly surprised and happy we booked this tour. Our guide was Andre and he was organized, thorough and friendly. Our group was small and he weaved us successfully through the crowds. (Although we did book early morning so the crowds were very manageable.) He was great at answering all questions and telling us information we may have never heard before. I highly recommend this tour!
