Full description

Cycle out of Rome from the meeting point. Travel along the old Roman road into the countryside and through woods and country lanes. Once outside of the city, continue along the Appian Way to the Park of the Aqueducts. Arrive at the Park of the Aqueducts and stop for a little break to cool down in the flowing water from the Aqueduct Felice. Continue by cycling alongside the remains of Rome's highest aqueduct, following its path into the center. Following the aqueduct of the Emperor Claudius brings you to an underground spring, which is a modern-day part of local life.

Stop here to try some food from the local market and taste some mineral water from the spring. Then, leave the spring and head back to the start through a wooded park known as the Caffarella Valley.

The tour enables you to experience nature in close proximity to the center. The e-mountain bikes were of very high quality and it was a lot of fun to ride them over the sometimes bumpy Via Appia. Elena is a great tour guide and inspires with her narrative style at the various stops on the route. We had the impression of getting to know the “other” Rome, away from the cultural and historical sights and the tourist crowds. We recommend!

Very fun activity to do. Good physical exertion to lose the extra holiday kilos that can be gained from the delicious Italian food and ice cream, very nice to be outside the busy city. But above all to learn a lot about the development and about the long history of the great city of Rome; and that under the guidance of a very experienced, well historically educated and enthusiastic guide.

This was our favorite moment in Rome - hands down. Glenn was a really great guide, knowledgeable lovely guy and we really enjoyed sharing this time with him. The e bikes were really easy to ride, intuitive and I loved the 'assist' for the (few) hills. It makes this tour accessible to most all levels of riders! The close up view of the aqueducts, the open air and gorgeous countryside just outside Rome... Super fun and relaxing and informative. Highly recommended.
