Covid-19 Update

Due to health and safety regulations, this itinerary may change. See Know before you go for the latest updates.

With your licensed local guide leading the way, you’ll breeze past the notoriously long lines and through an exclusive Vatican Partner Entrance into the Vatican Museums – giving you more time to experience the artistic treasures of this unmatched collection. Seek out the sights you really want to see, dwell a little longer in areas with lots to take in, and ask questions to your heart’s content – making the most of your guide’s considerable Vatican expertise. The tour takes in the Gallery of Maps, with its delicately gilded ceiling, the world-famous Raphael Rooms, and much more. You’ll see famous works alongside forgotten relics, medieval maps and ancient sculptures, each with its own story, before heading to the jewel in the Vatican’s crown: the Sistine Chapel. Here, your guide will provide a richer perspective on Michelangelo’s legendary frescos, pointing out easily missed details like the painful punishments the artist painted for his enemies, and the personal message he left for the Pope. Skip-the-ticket-line access allows the tour to move straight from the Sistine Chapel into St. Peter’s Basilica, avoiding a long ticket line outside. This vast and sumptuously decorated space holds even more stunning masterpieces, including Michelangelo’s ‘La Pietà’. Ask your guide why the construction of the Basilica’s dome nearly tore the church in two – or any other questions that come to mind.

Sensational private tour

We met our guide Teresa near the entrance to the Vatican Museums. Teresa is expecting us before the agreed time and the greeting was warm. Together with a group we were then able to enter the museums directly, from there Teresa was only available to us. We listened intently to the explanations and learned a lot of new things. Teresa also answered our questions competently. When visiting the museums, Teresa went into our needs and adapted the program accordingly. The explanations for the Sistine Chapel were very good, we looked at the pictures very differently. The visit ended with St. Peter's Basilica. We thank Teresa again very warmly. We can only recommend this private tour.

A little badly organized, it was a private tour for our group with a person in a wheelchair and it seems that there was an error and they did not communicate it, we had to improvise the tour and in the end he had to go down part with the crutches and stopping, a bad experience.
