Full description

Eat your way through the "Eternal City" on a guided walking tour of Rome. Feel the lively atmosphere as you make your way from Campo de’ Fiori to the Trastevere with plenty of wine and street food.

Meet your guide at the perfect spot for a tour focused on food and wine, and sample a selection of artisanal salamis from Italy, paired with your first taste of the country’s fine wines. Stroll through the city center as your guide divulges its strange and wonderful history. Then, nourish yourself with some local cheese at an historic shop that sells cheeses of various Italian origins.

Sample another glass of carefully selected wine and try the authentic Roman specialty of baccalà fritto (fried salted cod). Continue with a tasting of 2 other typically Roman foods: pizza "by the slice" and supplì (rice balls).

Visit eateries that specialize in the production of these scrumptious treats to experience new taste sensations and unforgettable aromas. Digest all your delicious food samples on a stroll to supper in one of the coziest restaurants in the Trastevere district. Known for the quality of its food, this quarter is considered to have the best restaurants in Rome.

Enjoy an exquisite Roman antipasto and 2 first courses, accompanied by 2 different Italian wines of protected production and origin. Finally, try some locally made Italian ice cream in flavors typical of a famous gelateria to complete your immersive journey into Italian cuisine.

It was a fun and relaxing atmosphere and the people on the tour were fun and engaging. Time split evenly between Rome and Trastevere restaurants. We visited eight locations and actually enjoyed all of the food/wine provided. The guide was very nice and knowledgeable on the dishes they we were being provided. A range of “sit down” to “take out” locations all quite unique with a nice local flavor.

This was a fun group and the food was good. My biggest complaint was that the tour guide walked at such a fast clip it was hard to keep up. It’s important to include everyone in your group equally and by the time we would catch up to hear about the surroundings or our next stop, she was halfway through her explanation. Also, being a Saturday night, it was very busy and noisy. It would have helped to have earpieces like many tours these days have so you can hear everything. The variety of the food and wine was good but my overall feeling at the end of the evening was one of frustration and disappointment due to the fast walking speed of the leader.
