Full description
Start in the beautiful alleys of Trastevere and go directly to Antica Caciara cheese and meats shop and meet Signor Roberto, whose family has run this shop for more than a century. Learn about different types of Italian cheeses and hams, and how to choose and preserve them. Try the most precious Prosciutto di Parma, Speck Alto Adige speck, Salame Milano, Pecorino Romano sheep cheese, popular since the days of ancient Roman legionnaires, as well as the unique Parmigiano Reggiano 30-month extract from raw milk. Stroll to a famous local pizzeria popular with the people of the area. The pizza of "Ivo a Trastevere" is made from 100% natural and yeast-free dough, which makes it so delicious and easy to digest. You will be offered pizza with gorgonzola cheese and pear, Diavola with spicy salami and, of course, Margherita made with buffalo milk mozzarella and fresh Pachino tomatoes. Take a look at how your pizzas are cooked on the thinly rolled out dough, generously garnished with toppings and sent to the burning wooden oven.  Walk off the beaten path and go straight to Enoteca Ferrara. Feel the magical atmosphere that reigns here, and cheer it by raising your glass. You will be offered Nobile di Montepulciano, that is one of the 3 most noble Tuscan wines, and an aromatic Traminer from of the Italian Alps slopes. Learn more about the best wines of Italy, learn to read the wine label, and learn how to pair a glass of wine with dishes. Finally, enjoy a sweet treat at Maria Grazia's ice cream shop. The ice cream here is topped with the best seasonal fruits, local hazelnuts from Lazio, pistachios and almonds from Sicilian Bronte, lemons from Sorrento. The recipes are unique, and the ice cream itself is light and tasty.
