We were picked up by Steve bush jnr and he was a fantastic tour guide. He took us (4 people) to the iguana sanctuary first where we met Pablo (who was the funniest guide ever!) and then onto the monkey and sloth sanctuary. Unfortunately there was only one sloth there, as the others were away having vaccinations but the sloth was lovely. The monkeys were good too and we all enjoyed the interactive time with them. Steve was very knowledgeable and told us lots of interesting facts about Roatan and its culture. Nothing was any bother for Steve and he also took us on a tour of the island. Would definitely recommend this company and Steve jnr as tour guide. Roatan was a beautiful place and hopefully we will be able to visit again in the future. Thank you again x

Full description

Start your half-day tour with pickup from your cruise ship terminal or your accommodation in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. Then, make your way to the first of two animal sanctuaries with your professional, bilingual guide. Visit Daniel Johnson’s Monkey and Sloth Hangout, a small, family-run animal sanctuary and a safe and loving environment for many animals. You will get to interact with and learn all about sloths, capuchin monkeys, scarlet macaws, and parrots, with a guided tour through the park. Then, head to The Arch’s Iguana & Marine Park, one of the oldest animal sanctuaries on the island of Roatan. Established back in 1980 to protect iguanas, it is now home to over 4,000 iguanas, including the black spiny-tailed iguana that is native to Central America. After all the animal love, finish off with a beach break. Rest or make use of the facilities such as beach chairs, freshwater, WiFi, and showers before returning to your cruise ship or hotel, lunch, snacks and drinks also available for purchase.

Meeting point

You will be picked up from Coxen Hole Port of Roatan or Mahogany Bay Cruise Ship Port, depending on where your cruise provider decides. At Coxen Hole Port, search for gate 1 and for the local partner's name. At Mahogany Port, the local partner will be at the taxi terminal right in front of the gate. Your tour will start around 30 to 40 minutes after your ship arrives and passengers have been cleared to disembark. If your cruise arrival time changes for any reason, please be sure to contact the local partner directly so that a guide can be available to meet you.
