Hike the short, lush Waikamoi Ridge Trail afterward, before stopping by the Garden of Eden Arboretum for more jungle scenery. Next, enjoy Maui’s famous coastline at Kaumahina State Park and snap some great photos from Nua'ailua Viewpoint. Continuing on, you’ll have the option to take a detour along Ke’anae Peninsula and learn the history of this picturesque place. After that, explore an ancient (and huge!) lava tube. Kahanu Garden is just beyond that, with over 400 acres of exotic flora. Then, stroll along a black sand beach at Waiʻānapanapa State Park, followed by dramatic red sand at Koki Beach. Next up is Hāmoa Beach, which has been kept in more or less its natural state by none other than Oprah! Then, finish your journey by hiking the famous and scenic Pīpīwai Trail. Finally, your tour will conclude at Kipahulu Visitor Center on the eastern shore of Maui. If you begin in Hana, you’ll see all the same spots traveling in the opposite direction.

What people are saying about Road to Hana

Trip was amazing - Eric was not only a very skilled driver but also a wealth of information about the history and geography of Hana. Because of a rockslide we went back the way we came which IMO was better as I got a chance to see the stunning scenery on the other side of the bus (rather than just a valley rock wall). There was enough time at each stop to enjoy it, but still get back at a reasonable time. The black sand beach and swimming in the freshwater pool with waterfalls were definite highlights. There was also plenty of food and drink offered throughout the day. Only negative was they tried to pick me up a day early which freaked me out XD

This was one of the best parts of our week long Maui trip. Our guide waa great. He was so passionate about Hawai'i, the history, the culture, everything. I learned more on this outing than any other part of the trip and my own appreciation for Hawai'i was increased. He clearly loved sharing his knowledge and heart for the island and I highly recommend. The guide's nickname was "Dom".

Zak was an amazing tour guide who filled us in with a lot of island history and showed us the most amazing spots on the road to Hana. He also took us to amazing breakfast places and food joints to accommodate my vegetarian diet options. Really enjoyed our trip

This was an amazing tour. Demian was knowledgeable regarding all aspects of Hawaii and more. Activity level is tailored for all types as guides are equipped for all. Once in a lifetime experience

Our family had an incredible day with Jay! He went above and beyond to bring us a great adventure on the Road to Hana!
