It was a wonderful experience, diving in a cenotes for the first time. We were a group of only 2 divers plus an experienced guide. I accidentally booked a discover scuba diving tour - thinking the “discover” related to the cenotes, not the diving. Luckily the dive shop pointed that out to me and we could spontaneously rearrange for a cenotes tour for experienced divers. Can recommend!

Full description

Embark on your first underwater scuba-diving experience in a beautiful Cenote. This open lagoon is surrounded by mangroves, and its crystal-clear water and sparkling light makes it a unique site – perfect for your first dive.  First, take a 30-minute class to understand the basic theory and safety of diving. Then, get set with the right equipment and immerse yourself in the water to practice some basic skills. Once you feel comfortable and have successfully completed this practice session, you'll be ready for your first experience! Plunge into the gorgeous waters of the Cenote and discover its majestic underwater world. Your expert instructor will always be there to supervise you. The dive lasts between 30 and 50 minutes, and you can enjoy complimentary refreshments and snacks at any point.

We had an amazing discovery dive that felt safe and fun. The four of us were all diving beginners, but our instructor Leo made sure we all knew what we were doing. I have some issues with anxiety which can impact my breathing at times. Leo really took the time to make sure I was OK and managed to calm me down under water which is not a small feat. Really an amazing experience which I can only recommend!
