Rishikesh Walking Tour (2 Hours Guided Walking Tour)

Nice walk across Rishikesh with visit of the main ashrams

Do not book this tour. It was a scam. Our guide could not speak English properly. As a result, we just walked around with the guide not knowing what we were looking at. The guide even got angry when we asked him to tell us about something which he had “already told us”. It was the worst walking tour of our entire trip in India. Afterwards, the company said they would refund us. We have followed them up several times and they are now ignoring us. No refund. Please don’t make the same mistake we did. Avoid this company / tour.

It was good to have a male escort as the tour started at 5pm and we were walking after sunset. It was not much more than an escorted walk though. Very little information and only when I asked specific questions. We hardly went in anywhere, except one temple. It was really just a stroll along the river. I had also walked the entire route myself the previous day so it would be helpful if you specify the route the tour will be taking or the guide checks before you set off if the guest would prefer a different route. I also had trouble understanding most of what he was saying. Guides should be aware that they need to speak slowly and make an effort to enunciate clearly. The tour only took 90 minutes so not even the full time paid for. I was the only guest so perhaps it takes longer if the group is bigger but all round I would not recommend paying money for this excursion. You can do it very easily by yourself.
