The tour begins with departure from Strasbourg bus station and heads to the first stop of the day, historical Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle. Upon arrival, admire the building’s architecture, learn about the people who once lived here, and marvel at the castle's stunning views across the Black Forest. After the castle, the open-top bus follows the famous Alsace Wine Route, making a stop at one of the region's most well-preserved medieval villages along the way, Riquewihr. Spend some free time wandering through the village’s picturesque streets, shop at a local store for a souvenir, or find a cozy restaurant for lunch. The tour continues to Kaysersberg next, to marvel at its beautiful fortified bridge nestled amongst the quaint village surroundings. Head south departing from Strasbourg where the first stop will be in Bergheim, a superb village on the wine route that contains many hidden wonders within its medieval walls. You will then have the opportunity to visit the charming town of Ribeauvillé, the ancient fief of the Lords of Ribeaupierre. History will call out to you on every one of its pedestrian streets.  After a visit to Hunawihr and a photo stop in front of its famous fountain, you will head to a local winemaker to taste traditional Alsatian wines. Enjoy the lunch break in the village of Riquewihr, one of the best-known in the region —  particularly renowned because of its idyllic location in the heart of the vineyard. The tour will continue to two villages that are equally famous for their historical character: Kaysersberg and Eguisheim. These two medieval villages have been elected “Favorite Villages of the French", a famous French program celebrating the year of the French’s favorite villages. Kaysersberg won the edition in 2017 and Eguisheim in 2013. Head back to Strasbourg at the end of the afternoon, after a day filled with great memories and beautiful images. Start your day when you are picked up at your hotel or apartment in Colmar before beginning your tour through the Alsace in a comfortable air-conditioned minivan.  Departing from the historical center of Colmar, you will pass through the wine route along the beautiful vineyards and little villages, from there you can explore the typical Alsatian architecture which is magical, colorful, and unique. You will make a stop at the four wonders of the Alsace as they are called. The first one is Eguisheim, one of the most beautiful villages in France. Then drive further along the Alsatian wine route, immerse yourself in the world of vineyards and products which make the Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr region’s reputation.  To test the region’s wine reputation, you will visit a typical wine cave and you can taste a big variety of wines such as Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Pinot noir, and many more.  Your tour will end with Kaysersberg, where its high fortress dominates the city and serves as a reminder of both its strategic importance and its warlike past. After visiting these 4 wonders, our driver will bring you safely back to Colmar.

You’ll depart Strasbourg in the morning and make your first stop on this day-long tour in Colmar. Discover the charm of the old town, and visit the Pfister house, the Koïfhus, St. Martin’s Collegiate Church, and the picturesque neighborhoods of Little Venice. Explore the lovely village of Eguisheim, surrounded by vineyards. Admire its narrow streets, and the half-timbered houses with their colorful flowers.  Continue on to the fortified town of Riquewirh. Surrounded by ramparts, the village has survived wars and remained intact. See its tiny streets, fortified walls, and 16th-century houses, admiring the architectural harmony. You’ll have free time to explore the town and have lunch. After lunch you’ll follow the scenic Alsace Wine Route. Situated between the Rhine valley and the Vosges mountain range, the 60-year-old route winds across hilly slopes for over 170 kilometers. When you reach Haut Koenigsbourg Castle your guide will take you on a tour of the mighty fortress that overlooks the valley. Built during the 12th century, the Castle occupied a strategic position controlling the wine and wheat routes to the north and the salt route from the east.

You will depart at 10:00am from Colmar. Pass through vineyards and taste some wine on the way to see these historical villages. The villages are each differently decorated for Christmas. You will fall instantly in love with their charm. The evenings are especially magical as the true Christmas atmosphere comes to life thanks to the beautiful illuminations that match perfectly with the wonderful lighting designed to enhance the towns' heritage. You will have time to explore at your own pace the villages of Kaysersberg, Riquewihr, and Eguisheim Your driver will be at your service and will help you to find and discover more about the towns. Between the villages, you will visit a wine cellar at Ribeauvillé, were you can enjoy a guided wine tour. Afterwards you will be invited to taste the white wines (like gewürztraminer) but you can also discover red wines (such as pinot noir) and crémant (white and rose).

Begin your full-day wine tour in the Mittelbergheim wine region, home to the Zotzenberg, Kastelberg, and Wiebelsberg Grand Crus. The soils here are particularly favorable for Riesling. Experience your first tasting with a selection that includes Pinot Blanc, Sylvaner, and Riesling. Continue on to the Dambach La Ville wine area. The village lies in the heart of the Alsace wine region and is home to the Grand Cru Frankstein. After some free time for lunch you’ll depart for the Ribeauvillé/Riquewihr wine area that is home to 5 Grand Crus appellations: Geisberg, Kirchberg, Osterberg, Schoenenbourg, and Sporen. Riesling is without a doubt the king of grapes in this area, but Pinot Gris, Muscat, and Gewürztraminer also produce some excellent area wines. Top wine growers include the Trimbach family that have been making wine since 1626 and the Hugel family, who started a bit later, in 1639. On this festive 7-hour program you’ll depart Strasbourg in the morning, and head to the village of Colmar. Christmas in Colmar’s historic town center is a magical experience featuring Christmas illuminations that blend perfectly with the lighting designed to enhance the town’s heritage. The pedestrian city center with its major architectural treasures dates from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. It is beautifully decorated, creating a veritable open-air theater where the warm Christmas mood envelops the heart of the town. Enjoy some free time in the area to visit your choice of the 5 different Christmas markets. Then you’ll take a drive along the famous Alsace Wine Route, passing through some of the region’s most beautiful villages. The afternoon program will depend on the date of your tour. Eguisheim, Riquewihr (Medieval market), Colmar and Strasbourg cities host a market every single day. Depending on when you go, discover the Christmas Market of Bergheim or the Ribeauvillé market. Almost every single day of this festive season, the market of Kaysersberg will be ready to show you all it has to offer. After the market visits you’ll return to Strasbourg.
