What People Are Saying About Rio de Janeiro
We enjoyed the tour, and learnt a lot about the Lapa area. Our guide was very engaging and spoke good English.
If I had not enquired I wouldn't have known changed time. Weather was awful. No point in going up at all least of all to keep changing times.
I had no idea what to expect from this experience but our guide Pedro went above and beyond and made this experience one I will never forget! If you have the opportunity to visit Rio you should definitely consider booking this guide.
Believe me, this tour is anything else than a 'monkey show' offered by other providers, who have no idea about the favela and only drive you on the main street in a van. With FWT you get to see the real favela & chat with the people, who are extremely friendly and helpful. I cannot recommend Pedro enough. An excellent guide, resident of the favela, graphic designer interested in classical music, a lot of culture, sense of humor but also humanity. Pedro showed us the real Favela from inside, destroying prejudices about it and making us feel welcomed. You have not seen Rio without a Favela Walking Tour!
It would have otherwise been difficult to go around Rio on our own. Our guide was knowledgeable about his city, friendly and readily answered our questions.
