What to Expect
On this unique 4-hour tour you’ll meet your guide at the Copacabana Palace Hotel and head to the Gloria neighborhood by Metro. Visit the Selaron Steps, where you’ll see the work of a Chilean artist. The huge mosaic features tiles from around the world, and spans 400 steps in Lapa area.
The second stop on your tour will be Praça Mauá. The square marks the beginning of Avenida Rio Branco and the beginning of the port region. The guide will point out important buildings around the square, such as the Rio Art Museum (MAR) and the Museum of Tomorrow.
Continue your walk along Olympic Boulevard to see the variety of artwork, including the massive 3,000-square-meter Etnias mural. It’s in the Guinness Book of World Records!
Visit the Pedra do Sal, originally a slave village, and a place with special significance for Cariocas of African descent and fans of samba and choro music.
