Avoid the huge crowds and get the same carnival experience at a hand-selected Bloco street party. Visit the pristine Rio de Janeiro west beaches. Travel to Paraty and walk the cobble stone streets, enjoy the restaurants, the amazing waterfalls, and more!
What to Expect
Carnival is a one-of-a-kind event that unites people from around the world with Brazilians to celebrate in grand fashion. The festivities are high energy, filled with colors, confetti, costumes, parades, and street parties. Hotels are full, restaurants have waitlists, and it is the world's best party. Pre Carnival is preferred by many Cariocas (Rio de Janeiro residents), because it has all the excitement without the masses. There is the same energy and festive spirit, colors and costumes, just with more space to dance and less shoulders to bump into.
Enjoy a 4 hour (all drinks, water and snacks included) hand-selected pre Carnival bloco – a neighborhood street party where people gather dressed in coordinated costumes, quickly put together costumes, bathing suits, or anything they can find in the closet. The animated crowds follow close behind a moving or stationary stage with their favorite local band playing popular songs, singing and dancing enjoying their favorite time of year.
Visit the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, where you find the most pristine beach, a hike with breathtaking view point, and a seaside restaurant, with an option to Stand Up Paddle in the bay. That afternoon travel to Paraty, the colonial vacation spot of the old Emperor. Spend two nights exploring the charming cobble stone streets and restaurants. Dance samba in the local squares. Spend a day hopping around the local waterfalls. The next day you will have free to explore as you like. Choose an optional activity and it will be organized! Try cruising in a speed boat or sailboat to the various beaches or hiking to a desserted beach, there are so many cool activities. Come back to Rio de Janeiro and have time to explore on your own with no commitments and all the local information at your disposal. See the Christ the Redeemer and the Sugarloaf, visit a local Favela or the newly revitalized downtown, or just simply hang on Ipanema beach. You choose!
