Full description
Visit Rio de Janeiro’s artistic district on this half-day tour of Santa Teresa. This tour begins in the center of Rio, and takes you through the Financial District and Carioca Square while en route to Santa Teresa.
When you meet your guide he'll lead you to the subway as you begin your journey to Santa Teresa. Your first stop is at the Carioca Station, where you will walk through the Financial District and Carioca Square, where you can view the historic aqueducts that were once the main source of drinking water in Rio.
The Santa Teresa district is located on a hill overlooking Rio, and enchants locals and visitors with its cobblestone streets and eclectic architecture. Santa Teresa features attractions such as the Chacara do Ceu Museum, and the Ruins Park, which features gorgeous views over downtown Rio de Janeiro and Guanabara Bay.
As you make your way back toward the Lapa District, you will stop by the Carmelitas Convent, where you can climb the world-famous “Escadaria Selaró” steps created by a Chilean-born artist as a tribute to the Brazilian people.
