The tour was good. The guide was kind and answered our questions. Overall I'm satisfied, I saw beautiful views and understood a bit about the whole concept and history of the favela, its rules and inhabitants. There wasn't something exceptional in the tour itself - like the guide spending more time in explanations and storytelling, meeting impressive local characters or something that would make us wow, but given the circumstances it also might not be possible. So I'm overall happy.

Great tour. Martin was clear about when and when not to pull out the camera, he gave some good info along the way and he made effort to interact with the locals to keep the rapport going in order to make it a safe experience. I’m really glad I took the tour and I also made some friends with others on the tour. 4 of us who were all solo travellers went for food and drink together afterwards.

A unique and important experience. The guide was very informative and clear throughout and the tour itself didn’t feel exploitative or extractive which I appreciated. I do feel we rushed in parts and it was hard to hear / observe around as we kept walking through quickly.
