What to Expect
Spend a colorful autumn or warm summer day in a tourist-free area of Latvia, exploring two the country's bogs.
Embark on two bog loop trails near Riga; "Cenas Tīrelis" and "Ķemeru Lielais Tīrelis" in Ķemeri National Park which is only a one-hour drive away from the Latvian capital city, Riga.
During the walk you will get to know about the bog creation process and the animals and plants you can meet there, not to mention the gorgeous bog sights with many smaller and larger lakes which reflect the world in its calm and dark waters.
Starting from the end of September, everyone will have a chance to enjoy a tour speciality; picked and prepared cranberries with Latvian herbal tee.
As the bogs visited are near the sea, a unique trail of Kaņiera Lagoon Lake lies nearby. At the end of tour you will see a little bit of the local fisherman's way of life by casting an eye over their fishing boats, tools, and home on the coast of the Baltic Sea.

Know Before You Go
The total distance covered during the relaxing walk is approximately 12 km (7.8 miles), which may be reduced to 10 km (6 miles) depending on your physical fitness. All distance is easily walkable for everyone and there are good wooden trails all the way along with ample opportunities to sit down.
