We really enjoyed this tour and it really matched our best expectations and needs. Līga took us on a varied and very interesting walk of Riga. Her English is excellent and she comes across very well. She managed to find a balanced level of narrative that suited us perfectly, with a good dash of humour and pride in her city, and was also very mindful of us as a group. Would definitely recommend this tour to those who wants to see the best of Riga and to feel the character of the city and are able and willing to walk for signficant distances, but are somewhat limited in time.

Did you know that Latvia’s long and rich beer culture most probably started by accident? You will visit 2 trending traditional beer bars with a large selection of beer. In the first bar, you will try 3 kinds of beer accompanied by traditional Latvian snacks. One of them, rye fried bread is extremely popular in Latvia and works perfectly with the beer. On this 1-hour open-air tour, you will learn how beer influences the city and the culture. What is a ‘green spoon’? Why were the Latvians adding rocks to the beer mixtures in wooden casks? You will finish the tour in the bar and will try 3 more kinds of beer. Everyone will find their favorite one.

I find Latvia, and Riga, a welcoming place in general and that positive impression has just so reinforced, by my experience with our tour guide. Great local knowledge, as you would expect, brought to life with a depth of personal and lived experiences. (Aside from a single experience in childhood our guide was not able to eat bananas again until 15 - book the tour to learn more ;)). Our guide provided so much more than was described and you were left feeling looked after and at home in Latvia - as well as thoroughly amused (great sense of humour) and and well fed. Trust me - if you want the best experience of the market look no further. You will be glad you booked.
An informative and nutritious tour with a great guide. We were picked up directly from the hotel and walked through the entire market, tasting our way from salty to sweet and tasting the most important specialties of Riga. Liga (the guide) also responded to our wishes / preferences.
Luckily we were the only guests ! Guna was such a nice and knowledgeable guide! She explained the history and the presence of the market. The variety of food tasting was excellent. I recommend to book this trip!!
Liga was a great guide with very good understandable German and good knowledge of Riga
