A very nice hike to the top allowing a breathtaking view of the crater of the volcano. The hike is well worth the intermediate level and hiking boots are not too much! The return trip was breathtaking with unusual and unforgettable landscapes. Thank you for the feedback that made our ride alive. We recommend this experience!

Staff were courteous. Was a fairly robust hike, but a gratifying view at the end, even if not erupting. Hike is only a few miles, but much of it at grade. Be prepared for loose, sandy and pebbly terrain, at times steep and off-angle. Not a scramble by any means but but there is a small stretch where one must anticipate unsteady footing. No major cliffs unless veering way off path. There are two bathroom breaks - one in a fishing museum before the hike, the other at a sulfur spring after. Be sure to stay in same seats after each stop, though this isn’t a formal policy.

It was nice. Almost the whole time we were traveling by bus the guide was telling about the country, view that we see through our windows, about our destination - it was nice knowing some facts. We had options to hike with the guide or on your own. The view was breathtaking and we had plenty of time to hike or stop to rest. I highly recommend this activity.
