On the unforgettable whale watching tour you will observe whales in their native environment, and see local birdlife, such as puffins, Arctic terns, gannet and many varieties of gull. Killer whales and humpback whale are common sights in Iceland from October through March, while minke whales are a rare but an unforgettable sight.
After the whale watching tour, you will be picked up from the harbour at 12:30 for the Golden Circle afternoon tour.
Start your coach tour at the Þingvellir National Park to see where the Icelandic parliament Alþingi was established in the year 930 AD. Geologically it is remarkable, with tectonic plate boundaries that form a breathtaking scenery.
Next, visit the impressive Gullfoss Waterfall, and the spouting hot springs of Geysir and Strokkur. Although the afternoon coach tour is an express tour, you will see some of the best historical sites and natural phenomena in Iceland. Before your return to Reykjavík, pass the astonishing village of Hveragerði, known for its greenhouses heated by hot volcanic springs.
