Full description
Leaving from Reykjavik’s old harbor, you’ll sail in style on the Andrea, the largest whale-watching ship in Iceland. In the summer, you can also join an express tour on a faster express whale watching boat. The waters off Reykjavik are rich with aquatic life. Most commonly spotted creatures are minke whales, white-beaked dolphins, harbor porpoises – and even humpback whales. The Andrea features spacious public viewing areas as well as a deck that offers fantastic 360-degree views of the stunning environment. There’s a café on board that serves a range of refreshments and a souvenir shop. The experience is built on a special Educational focus, with a microscope, baleens, and whale teeth on board for passengers to learn about the whales and other sea life. Humpback Whales are often spotted from the boat as well as Minke Whales, White Beaked Dolphins, Harbor Porpoises and occasionally Orcas. Knowledgeable guides are available to answer any questions you may have and to help you spot these wonderful creatures of the deep.

We saw a total of four whales. The marine biologist always gave valuable information about the way of life and behavior of the whales. The crew tried everything to see more whales. Of course, you also need a lot of luck. The trip took more than the estimated 3 hours. If you want to have a special experience, you should join the tour.

The weather was beautiful, the guide, a biologist from Germany, was fantastic. We got to see 3 hump backs and some dolphins, which was amazing. Only issue was that the captain would keep trying to steer the boat to front the whales, and really there isn't room for everyone at the front, it was better when you could see them from the side. But still, great tour!

All staff members were helpful and kind. Despite not seeing any dolphins or whales on our first trip it was still an amazing day. My son loved looking at all the information on the lower deck too. Would highly recommend. Also take some sunscreen between the sun and sea we got a little sun on our cheeks.
