Full description
Search for the Northern Lights in the comfort of a super jeep. Go where tour buses can't and learn all about this amazing natural phenomenon from an English-speaking guide in a small group setting. Discover firsthand why people from all over the world flock to Iceland in the winter in search of the Aurora Borealis. The Northern Lights are a memorable site and everyone who has seen them will tell you why – they are completely mesmerizing. Given cloudless skies and a little bit of luck, sightings can occur from autumn to early spring. The locals say that the colder it is, the more vibrant and intense the colors will be. Swirling and swaying overhead, the Northern Lights are usually greenish yellow but white, red, and pink lights also frequently appear.

Very nice tour although we were unable to see the strong northern lights but still the tour guide ( Erwin ) was very friendly and a warm host . Also his knowledge for Northern lights is remarkable and he was sharp enough to drive us to another location for a better view where the lights were a bit stronger. Last not the least the hot chocolate was yummy

This was a great tour. The group was small, the vehicle was capable of going off road to seek out better viewing points, and there was live updates from the company to our driver when the lights had been seen, so we could rush out to the places they’d been spotted. We were able to see the Northern Lights from 2 different locations, and our guide was informative and kind, took photos of everyone in front of the lights, and provided hot cocoa and biscuits for everyone. Overall a great experience, much better than the larger bus tours which just go to the same location each night and sit for hours waiting for the lights to show instead of chasing them. Highly recommend this tour.

First off, I have to give credit to our amazing guide Hjortur. This tour is a little more money than other Northern Lights tour but it is definitely worth to spend a little extra. I have been on 2 other Northern Light tours previously and they were less expensive but a much much larger group and bus. This tour was 16-20 ppl and so much more intimate. The small bus meant we could off road to try and catch the lights and we had much more mobility. This also means you weren't going to areas with all the other tours. We went to a very secluded spot on an off road that would not have been accessible on the larger tour buses. And our tour guide had hot chocolate for everyone or if you wanted some Black Death (an Icelandic staple, like Gin or Vodka). All of the above made this tour worth it over others even if you don't see the lights. But I personally feel our odds increased b/c the group and transportation was much smaller. I would still rate this tour highly even if we saw nothing.
