Full description

Start the trip from a beautiful harbor in the city center and sail out to Kollafjöður, where you can see the island in the bay. Videy Island is known for the Lennon/One Peace tower, Richard Scerra's 'Milestones', and other attractions, along with great bird life.

Continue on to Faxaflói Bay, popular for whale and bird watching, sea angling, and also great fishing grounds. The mountain ring seen from the bay, among which Snaefellsjökull Glacier may be spotted on clear days, is particularly beautiful.

I thoroughly enjoyed this trip, the captain was very informative and humorous. We didn't get to see any whales on our first trip (although I'm convinced I saw one) but we were able to book again for free, which we did, for the next day. The crew try very hard to ensure you see whales and communicate well whit other boats for the best areas to head to. There was also a good sense of team work as passengers were encouraged to let everyone know if they saw any whales. On our first trip we saw lots of porpoises close up and on our second trip we say a minky whale several times.

The crew was very nice and helpful, the boat well equipped. Unfortunately we had big waves, so that despite 2 travel tablets I got seasick and half frozen because I couldn't sit in the warm inner cabin due to the nausea without throwing up: / Unfortunately we didn't see any whales either! So a failure for me, but the crew can't help it! I would definitely not go on a boat tour in winter and no more when there are waves!

Really great tour. Guide had you looking out for signs as they where they might be too. 200+ pairs of eyes definitely better than 1. We saw dolphins and a minke whale. The whole experience left you feeling exhilarated. The water was a bit choppy but it was fine ( and they even offered sickness tablets at the ticket desk if you thought you might be affected). One thing though - and this seems to be about most tours - or at least the ones we did, they like a paper copy of the itinerary/ticket. Having booked mine before we came here. I opted for the mobile ticket (save a tree and all that) and on every occasion had to go to the ticket office to show the mobile ticket where they then print off one to hand in on the tour. So maybe it’s a good idea to print them off before you leave home.
