Full description
New Year’s Eve in Reykjavík is celebrated with fireworks and bonfires, and local residents gather around several bonfires that are found throughout the city.
These festivities have their origins in the Middle Ages when people created bonfires to burn the old things they no longer needed. The tradition has been preserved, but today Icelanders just gather around the bonfires to sing and symbolically burn the old year.
This unique 3-hour tour makes it possible for you to experience this celebration with the Icelanders. It’s a spectacular sight not to be missed when in Iceland at this festive time of year!
Note that this tour is only available on New Year’s Eve, every year.
