Located at MarBar Restaurant in the heart of Reykjavik Old Harbour, this event is the perfect way to take in Icelandic culture while tasting traditional delicacies and locally brewed beers. A great way to end your day of exploring Iceland.
What to Expect
If you are into local beer and food, as well as getting inside knowledge on Reykjavík and Iceland, then this tour is perfect for you. This popular tour takes place at the MarBar in the heart of Reykjavík Old Harbour, and is ideal for food lovers and beer enthusiasts, not to mention those eager to learn a more about Icelandic culture, traditions and history.
Your host will mix together a history of Icelandic ales and modern craft beers with stories of Icelanders and how they survived in this harsh environment of the North. The event is fairly informal, and your host will happily discuss anything under the Arctic sun, take questions and give advice about exploring and enjoying Iceland.
During this event you will taste at least six different beers and ales, each drink paired with a locally sourced and prepared Icelandic course, served “tapas” style. You will taste fresh fish caught from the pier just outside the window. Also on the menu is the infamous Icelandic lamb. Because they roam around wild in the mountains their meat is tender and tasty like no other.
