What to Expect
Explore what lies beneath the lava landscapes of Iceland on a small group lava cave expedition from Reykjavik.
Working in a small group of no more than 8 people, crawl into the lava tube of an old volcano and discover three different caves of different shapes and sizes. The lava tube is located right next to Reykjavik. The biggest cave is not visible from the surface and requires a bit of crawling to access.
Once inside, crawl deep into the main cave to find yourself in a dark and eerie atmosphere that was formed by a volcano eruption. Discover what lies beneath the ground of Iceland’s volcanic landscapes, and what a volcanic eruption can cause underground.
You will be provided with a head light torch and helmet for your safety, while your guide will tell fun geological facts about the lava tubes along the way.
