Full description
Originally built in 1891, the ‘Gamla Laugin’  is Iceland’s first swimming pool. Spend time in this relaxing setting feeling your worries slip away. A natural hot spring feeds the lagoon with 38-39°C water  that bubbles up from deep within the earth at a rate of 10 litres per second, constantly replenishing itself so that there is a steady supply of fresh clean water in the pool at any given time, letting you rest as long as you need.  Enjoy brand new facilities at the Secret Lagoon including changing rooms, showers, resting rooms, bar and restaurant area.  Situated in a remote location in Fluðir, the Secret Lagoon is just an hour away from Geysir, 1 hour and 20 minutes from Reykjavik and 2 hours from Vik making it a great desination on your trip to Iceland.

Very warm/hot simple and atmospheric pool. A great experience and so much cheaper than the blue lagoon! You can buy drinks to have them in the water, there are lots of floats. Nice modern changing rooms. I would say the water might be a little too hot for young kids but we did see some there.

Great to sit in the natural geothermal pool and watch the mini geyser next to us. Every time it blows it adds to the heat. Well looked after and clean everywhere. Gravel/rock bottom so tough feet required. Cafe is just drinks and snacks don’t expect anything more. Booked a 2 hour slot which was ample.

The Secret Lagoon is delightful resting 'activity' to add to your adventure travels in Iceland. We had been horse-back riding and hiking a whole lot and felt a bit tired and sore. Floating in the lagoon was just the perfect cure for that! It seemed like a much less formal and sophisticated version of the Blue lagoon, which we also visited, and I liked it all the more for that. Definitely worth visiting!
