Full description
On this 2 day tour you will explore the striking South Coast of Iceland, visit the famous Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and go caving in a natural ice cave in Vatnajökull glacier.

First you explore the South Coast, home to several of Iceland’s iconic natural attractions. Stops will be made at one of the largest waterfalls in South Iceland, Skógafoss, before moving on to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, although at first glance you may think you’ve landed on another planet. The lagoon is filled with colossal chunks of floating ice that have calved from the glacier. The bizarre and beautiful landscape has been immortalized in several films, such as 'A view to a Kill', 'Die Another Day', 'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider' and 'Batman Begins'. The last stop of the day is Gerði Country Hotel, where dinner is available for purchase in the restaurant before you turn in for the night.

On day two you travel to Vatnajökull, one of the largest glaciers in Europe. Hidden inside it is a remarkable natural ice cave just begging to be explored. You'll be provided with gear such as crampons, helmets and headlamps if needed before your gallant guide takes you inside the ice.

After leaving the ice cave, you return to the glacier lagoon for a final look at this splendid natural phenomenon before getting back on the tour bus. On the way to Reykjavik you will stop at another waterfall, named Seljalandsfoss. This waterfall has a special feature - a walking path that takes you behind the cascading water.
