Full description

Undergo a unique underwater experience by snorkeling in the Silfra fissure on a half-day tour from Reykjavik. Frequently rated as one of the world's top 10 dive sites, Silfra offers up to 100 m (300 ft) of underwater visibility.

Admire views of Iceland's stunning landscape as you ride from Reykjavik to the heart of Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site. Snorkel in this location for 45 min with your guide, before returning to the warmth of the tour van and heading back to Reykjavik.

The cold waters melt off a glacier 50 km (30 miles) away and make their way through lava fields to beautiful Thingvellir Lake. Although the chilly waters are too cold to support much in the way of marine life, Iceland's Silfra crack runs down between the American and European continental plates and offers amazing underwater views.

Snorkeling was a great experience. I had never snorkeled in a dry suit before and the fun started as soon as I got dressed. I was there with my daughter and we had a blast from getting dressed to getting out. Our guide Frederica made a significant contribution. She was fresh, fun and made us feel safe. Her style is an absolute enrichment for the participants!!

A must activity! We booked this trip as a last minute decision and are so glad we did, we thoroughly enjoyed it, the staff were all very friendly and extremely professional and we would highly recommend giving this trip a go. Make sure you’re prepared with a base layer of clothing and don’t forget to take a change of underwear just incase (my partners dry suit leaked just a little (but didn’t ruin the experience) and a small towel to dry your hair (don’t forget your hairbrush!)

Great experience! We must have been in the water for almost an hour and had a great view through the Silfra fissure. One of my highlights in Iceland. It was very cold, but the double suit helped a lot, at least not to freeze for the most part. However, you should wear suitable clothing such as leggings and thick socks underneath. In the special suit it is very easy to snorkel because you automatically float above the water. The guides took photos in the water, before and after, so that you have good memories afterwards. There were also biscuits and hot cocoa before the return trip. Can only recommend the tour!
