Full description

See the best of southwest Iceland on an 8-hour Golden Circle tour by bus from Reykjavik. Visit the spectacular Geysir area, and go to the cascades of Gullfoss Waterfall. Discover where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet in Þingvellir National Park. Travel to the geothermal area of Geysir. Marvel as the active hot spring of Strokkur spouts steaming water 30 meters into the air every 8 minutes.

Continue to one of Iceland’s most iconic features at the Gullfoss Waterfall (“Golden Falls“). Feel the spray of the waters of the glacial River Hvítá as it plummets down into a 32-meter deep crevice. Next, enter Þingvellir National Park, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are pulling apart at a rate of a few centimeters per year.

Þingvellir was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its cultural value in 2004, and is the site of a stunning rift valley and the Rock of Law, the first Viking parliament. Marvel at the volcanic crater at Lake Kerið, and pass through the Icelandic farms of the south on your drive around the Golden Circle, before returning to your original starting point in Reykjavik.

Wow wow wow! Couldn’t have been a better day! Definitely recommend this tour! Our tour guide was called Omar I think… very knowledgeable about Iceland and kept the driving parts very fun and interesting. Firstly even though I paid for hotel pickup the bus could not get to my hotel so I got picked up from our nearest bus stop which was bus stop 6, 2 min walk away we then got transferred to another mini bus which we was on for the day. Tour was amazing we got surprised with an added extra to the tomato farming where we stopped for lunch and could enjoy tomato soup with unlimited bread. “Have to pay” for soup it’s not included in the package. We also got surprised with a Icelandic horse show at the tomato farming base where we could pet the horses and have free tea & coffee Each stop was brilliant gullfoss water fall was my favourite. All around an amazing day and definitely recommend

One of the best days of my life! Our tour was moved last minute to an earlier pick up time of 8am but we were glad for it as we got to watch the sunrise at the Kerid crater. Our tour guide (Alan) was so kind and knowledgable, and our driver was nice enough to squeeze in a few bonus stops along the way so we could see some Icelandic horses, secret viewpoints and where they bake bread in the soil. Easy pick up instructions and even easier drop off. Only wish I could take tours as perfect as this everyday :( highly recommend, and suggest booking the 8am slot for maximum daylight!

This trip was the highlight of the entire holiday to Iceland. The different places to visit were absolutely stunning, we a few additional stops involved for perfect picture opportunities. Siggi was the most amazing guide we could have asked for, absolutely hilarious, would do the exact same trip again just for the amount we laughed! Do not miss this excursion when visiting Iceland!
