Experience the dramatic cascades of Gullfoss waterfall, fed by the glacial waters of the Hvítá River. Get different views of the impressive water as it plunges into a 32-meter deep crevice.  Reconnect with nature in Þingvellir National Park, and discover where the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia are pulling apart. Return to Reykjavík for a few hours at leisure before your evening Northern Lights tour. Head back out after dark to look for the dancing lights in the night sky. Also known as the Aurora Borealis, the natural phenomenon is caused by the interaction of particles from the sun with the upper atmosphere near the North Pole.

Tour ben organizzato con partenza dal Bus Terminal BSI. Durante il giorno ti portano a visitare i geyser e il parco nazionale. Poi si rientra a Reykjavik alla sera è prevista una escursione a 45 min. di strada per vedere l’aurora boreale con rientro verso mezzanotte e mezza lasciandoti alla bus stop più vicina al tuo hotel. Peccato che alla sera l’escursione dell’aurora è stata annullata causa maltempo. Ti consentono di recuperare l’escursione serale entro 1 anno. Copritevi bene perchè la sera fà molto freddo e il vento è gelato

A parte do Golden Circle foi excelente, não tenho qualquer apontamento negativo. A guia era excelente, assim como o transporte e o motorista. É um pouco corrido cada parada, mas uma excelente opção para quem tem pouco tempo e não que deixar de fazer o passeio. Já a parte da Aurora Boreal eu não repetiria e não recomendo. A guia era ótima, mas a concepção do tour em si não achei legal. Muita gente, vários ônibus no mesmo local, sem qualquer estrutura para passar horas à espera, pois apesar do ônibus ficar aberto e disponível para entrar quando quisesse, o acesso a ele não era tão simples (pois o lugar é escuro, como tem mesmo que ser, e acaba não sendo fácil entrar e sair a toda hora).

I did the golden circle and northern lights combo, the golden circle was amazing and has some incredible views. I am really glad I did it, I didn’t realise I had booked a direct tour and there’s a little longer version but I think the direct tour has enough time at each place, the longer one might have been too much. I think had I seen the northern lights my view would have been much better and I know it can’t be helped, but it’s very cold and quite boring waiting around (probably just me being inpatient!) and then we left before 23:30 which although I wasn’t enjoying it much I would have rather waited it out as the chances of seeing them increased significantly after midnight/1am so it felt like a waste of time. Like I said though, had I seen them I would have seen it completely differently so I would recommend trying - especially if you’re more patient than me! It’s probably worth the tour starting and finishing later though.
