Our guide and driver were great. It was really windy so I was worried the trip would be cancelled but our driver was calm and drove very safely. A really long day but plenty of stops and the diamond beach was worth the journey! We booked this trip on the 4th day of our 6 day trip which meant we could use the long journey to catch up on some sleep after some very busy days beforehand!

Go to the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon outlet of the largest glacier in Europe, leaning about its history and formation from your local guide. Following a pickup from your hotel in Reykjavik, transfer to the southern coast and the dramatic Glacier Lagoon. Enjoy plenty of time to see the floating icebergs and enjoy the stunning scenery. During the season, make sure to reserve your ticket to the boat cruise on the Jökulsárlón and experience the unique Glacier Lagoon spectacle up close. When you prebook, your place is guaranteed. Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is Iceland’s largest and deepest glacier lagoon. It branches from Breidamerkurjokull, an outlet glacier of Vatnajokull, Europe’s largest glacier. Return to Reykjavik, stopping at the gorgeous waterfall Seljalandsfoss. You will visit the Diamond beach with black sand, and there will be an additional stop in Iceland's southernmost village at Vík for dinner.

The day started off perfectly with an ontime pick up from Bus Stop 13. The weather got progressively worse as we neared the town of VIK, so much so that the driver decided we would not be going forward, instead we would pull over and wait out the ice and wind storm to head back to Reykjavik. We had a very skilled driver who kept us all safe despite the high winds!! Lucky for us the weather turned a bit and after an hour or so it was safe to continue on! A little more rain, a few rainbows, and we made it to Diamond Beach! We still made all our stops and were back in Reykjavik by 11pm.
