Full description

Experience some of the largest glaciers of Iceland, and see the waterfalls of Skógafoss and Seljalandson on a day trip from Reykjavik. After a pickup from the city, witness the alluring natural beauty of the cascading waterfalls and embark on a guided hike with all necessary glacier equipment.

Journey to Seljalandsfoss waterfall where you get the chance to walk behind the 60-meter fall. There will definitely be a drizzle behind the breathtaking waterfall, so put on your rain gear and get your cameras ready.

Continue the adventure at Skógarfoss waterfall, a 60-meter drop from what used to be the coastline. You can enjoy the beautiful view from above after running up the 527 steps leading to the top.

Skógarfoss was a filming location for the Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Thor: The Dark World as well as several music videos. On the iconic black sand beach, discover magnificent basalt columns as well as the rock pillars named Reynisdrangar.

Be sure to watch out for the unpredictable sneaker waves while enjoying the magical view of the beach and Dyrhólaey cliffs in the distance. Between June and August, you can enjoy the company of hundreds of puffins that like to nest in the columns.

Finally, get geared up with the necessary safety equipment to hike up one of Iceland's most scenic glaciers on the South Coast, where you can see the fast-melting ice formations and learn about the area’s ancient geology and environmental importance.

This trip was stunning, for sure the highlight of our time in Iceland! Our tour guide/driver was super chilled about the time we had at each activity. We had perfect weather for the glacier hike and the views were phenomenal. Would definitely recommend!!

The glacier hike itself was beyond stunning & learning of geology of the glaciers. However the guide ruined my experience as he had little patience for beginner hikers who are paying good money for the hike... I struggled slightly with my crampons & he knocked on my helmet & said you are doing it wrong with little patience & to knock rudely on my helmet was disgraceful... he also had little patience with another on this tour... a miserable old man who should step down from his position & give the position to someone with fire & passion... dreadful man!

The trip was incredible! The highlight was definitely the glacier hike but we got very lucky with the weather, we had almost perfect conditions for the the trip which is very rare in winter months. Also I would say that the glacier hike is quite accessible, my mother (60) who also has knee problems, was able to do it just fine. There are a couple of steep hills and steps to go up on, but they don’t last long and I felt like there were breaks in between (it wasn’t fast paced). Overall, I felt like there was enough time at every stop and the guide was great at pointing things out on the way. South Coast of Iceland is beautiful and I’m so happy we were able to see it all! We will definitely be returning.
