Full description

Undergo a unique underwater experience by snorkeling in the Silfra fissure on a half-day tour from Reykjavik. Frequently rated as one of the world's top 10 dive sites, Silfra offers up to 100 m (300 ft) of underwater visibility.

Admire views of Iceland's stunning landscape as you ride from Reykjavik to the heart of Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site. Snorkel in this location for 45 min with your guide, before returning to the warmth of the tour van and heading back to Reykjavik.

The cold waters melt off a glacier 50 km (30 miles) away and make their way through lava fields to beautiful Thingvellir Lake. Although the chilly waters are too cold to support much in the way of marine life, Iceland's Silfra crack runs down between the American and European continental plates and offers amazing underwater views.

Couldn’t praise this trip enough. As a plus size lady who found it difficult to get the suit on I was supported and made to feel so welcome by all the staff. After a bit of nerves and a tear or too, they comforted me and told me it was nothing they hadn’t seen before. Our guide Dimitris was absolutely brilliant. Took amazing pictures just like the photos and told us all the facts. The pick up was also brilliant who took us to the national park for a photo opportunity took the time to tell us all about the history which was wonderful too! A once in a lifetime trip… BOOK IT.

Great trip. Went at Christmas and were treated to a snowstorm on the way to the site. The snorkeling was very cool, but only in the water for about 20-25 minutes. Instructions about what to bring were a little vague. You need to bring an extra change of base layer clothes ( thermals, etc) as they may get wet during the snorkeling. Outer clothes never get beat the water. Also, you change into the diving suit and dry suit (which goes over the diving suit) while you’re standing with your group outside. The changing process can take 20-30 minutes. You also change out of the dive gear outside, so doing this in the winter is invigorating, to say the least.

well organized tour and adaptive to changes like last minute pick up challenges. The actual activity was fun and unique. It is cold waiting to go into the water but very manageable once in the water. Plan on wearing two pairs of socks. If you have neck problems i would say that the effort and force required to put on the dry suit and take it off could be challenging.
