From Reykjavik: Landmannalaugar & Háifoss Waterfall Tour

Here you have about 4 hours to enjoy the best of what the area has to offer. We take the 1.5-2 hour easy Lauga-loop hiking trail along which we pass the renowned colourful ryholite hills, striking obsidian rock formations, ascend toward the steaming geothermal pools and negotiate the trail through the foothills of Bláknúkur mountain.

After the hike you have the opportunity to bathe in the geothermal hot-spring pool, as reward for your exertions on the trails. Enjoy great views as you linger in the healing waters.

We enjoy other great sights on our way to and from Landmannalaugarþ. We see the waterfalls at Hjálparafoss, Glanni and Háifoss. Háifoss waterfall is Iceland's fourth largest. We also pay a visit to Hnausapollur, an ancient crater lake formed by volcanic eruptions. Marvel at the turquoise blue hue of the water, contrasting with the desolate desert sands of the surrounding landscape.
