Our original tour was cancelled due to the volcanic activity around Blue Lagoon, but Nice Travel was very communicative and gave several options. We selected the Geothermal Wonderland and Golden Circle tour, so we stopped at a greenhouse/geysir area for geyser bread and eggs boiled in the hot spring instead of Blue Lagoon. Nicola was such a fun energetic guide! She managed to give us two extra stops, to see Icelandic horses up close and at a dairy farm for ice cream. As we approached each stop she gave us some history and context for the site, as well as suggestions/options for which direction to head in.

We had an amazing time on this excursion. Our guide Elias was welcoming and knowledgeable and made the experience great, providing us with much needed crampons and great insight into Iceland and its history. These sights are truly breathtaking and we were lucky enough to visit the Blue Lagoon on the day it reopened following the recent volcanic activity, it was a lovely way to end the day trip. Great value for money, highly recommend!

Experience Iceland’s 2 most visited natural attractions, the Golden Circle and the Blue Lagoon, in one day on a comfortable and convenient minibus tour. Depart Reykjavik and head for the Thingvellir National Park, where the Eurasian and American tectonic plates converge. Amble through the stunning, lake-filled area, hopping back and forth between continental boundaries, and view the site where the Icelandic parliament was held from 930-1798. Next, head to the Geysir Hot Spring with geothermal pools reaching temperatures of 200 degrees. Witness the Strokkur geyser erupting a plume of boiling water and steam 100 feet in the air. Grab a bite to eat, before heading to the breathtaking waterfall at Gullfoss. Next, visit the Kerid volcanic crater with its deep blue waters, surrounded by vibrant red rock. Finish your tour at the iconic Blue Lagoon. Luxuriate in the warm, geothermal waters, making use of an included silica mud mask, before heading back to Reykjavik.

Our guild Nikola was amazing. Told us all the interesting facts about our tour, was very knowledgeable, and pleasant to be around. Was so efficient that we were able to stop and see smaller attractions that were worth the stop! So glad we got to spend the day with her.
