Full description

Hang suspended, feet dangling, in front of a 20-meter spherical screen while a film whisks you away on an exhilarating journey across Iceland. Soar over land, sea and ice. Move with the arctic winds. This is an immersive flight experience. The ride utilizes state-of-the-art technology to give you the feeling of flying. Special effects, including wind, mist and smells, combine with the ride’s motion to create an unforgettable experience. Before your flight begins, a storyteller and resident troll Sú Vitra will lead you through two unique adventures that’ll ignite your imagination with stories of Iceland, its people and the natural forces at work. Rides commence approximately every 15 to 20 minutes during operating hours. The total experience will take approximately 35 minutes, including the 8.5 minutes you’ll spend on the ride.

Okay, obviously it’s interesting to see Iceland and “experience” it, in a sense. However, I also want to point out that the technology of it is just very cool and impressive. I’d encourage trying this out even if just to experience some of the storytelling tech that Iceland makes use of.

I am not one for theme parks but this ride took my breath away…literally. The whole experience was done so well and the ride was so fantastic, we booked to come back the next day (which is half price if you book the same day). I would thoroughly recommend this for all ages.

Photo opportunity and 10 minute intro followed by great graphical Icelandic story then the main ride covering the whole of Iceland in a 10 minute fly past - well worth it … only thing missing was a 30 second section flying over a volcano - put that in and it would be 10/10
